We are a team of legal and technology pioneers. We strive to empower smaller corporate legal teams to play a more powerful strategic role in their company.
Our story starts back in 2002, when General Counsel and tech entrepreneur Harm Bavinck co-founded the Dutch software company, effacts.
Fed up with the time it was taking to assemble all the right documents for due diligence, Harm decided there had to be a better tech solution.
But all of the legal software on the market was too complicated and too costly. So he set about designing effacts: a legal dashboard with a simple set of powerful tools.
In 2015, effacts was acquired by Wolters Kluwer. This acquisition united effacts’ expertise in legal tech with Wolters Kluwer’s 175 year history and global footprint.
Wolters Kluwer supports over 250,000 legal professionals worldwide, with a deep understanding of what lawyers need. In Europe, we're leader in legal software with 20+ years experience and 65,000 users.
We are global and local – we are experts in each jurisdiction in which we operate. By being global we can deliver essential things for our customers such as the best Cloud security and world-class user support and continued investment in innovation.
